The Hidden City workshop with Christina Kubisch is based on the research of soundwaves which we normally cannot perceive with our ears: electromagnetic waves, underwater sounds, radio waves and others.
Another point of interest of this workshop will be the comparison of these hidden sounds with our real soundscapes. The workshop aims to explore and record these hidden signals in the city of Amsterdam and transform and transcribe them into a work which will be discussed and eventually presented at the end of the process. The result of the research could be a composition, performance, text or something else. But what is most important about the workshop, Kubisch emphasises, is the experience of the participants and their discussions. By using technology, we comment on technology.
