Jan Skudlarek (DE) is a poet and author. He holds a doctorate in philosophy and poetry. He is also the recipient of the Wolfgang-Weyrauch-Förderpreis in 2017. His book, “The Rise of the Middle Finger” (Rowohlt, 2017) attracted much attention. In 2018, Skudlarek wrote an essay for Elevate Magazine on the mystery in the post-factual age entitled “Talking about silence: About Hiding”. In his new book, “The whole truth and other lies: Wie wir erkennen, was echte und wirklich ist” (How we recognize what is real) (Reclam, 2019) Skudlarek takes a stance against conspiracy theories and antifactual ways of thinking.
