Started in 2015 by Penny Klein and Rose Dagul, The Surround is a platform for improvisation and collaboration for emerging and established artists working across a wide spectrum of music and live performance. This special edition of The Surround, co-curated with artist and writer Sarah Gillett, is inspired by science fiction, space exploration and new technologies. Eight musicians, singers and spoken word performers explore different visions of a culture 2000 years from now, followed by a discussion between the artists and the audiences about what they have just seen. The evening culminates in two new collaborative performances.
