The Sound Hunter Workshop
DATE
24.02.2019
The Sound Hunter is a workshop for children (6-12 years old) led by sound artist Fedde ten Berge, developed in collaboration with Kunst Centraal. In this workshop, participants learn to produce digital and analogue sounds.
Sound is an art form that brings together technology and crafts. By interacting with eight different sound objects, the participants experience the workings of sensors, microphones and small computers. They learn how to make sound samples with water, a tree trunk, as well as electromagnetic fields, feathers and snares. By transforming these sounds with a built-in-computer, participants can explore completely new worlds of sound. This exercise also teaches participants the importance of listening and attention for each other while making music.
