Jamilla Prowse
Jamila Prowse is an independent curator, writer and editor. In her work she draws upon dance and club cultures to develop new languages around identity within the visual arts. She is founder of Typical Girls Magazine, an annual publication which seeks to widen the representation of self-identifying women in the media. Alongside her independent practice, Jamila works as Assistant Producer across Learning, Art and Technology at SPACE studios (London) and was previously Project Manager at Lighthouse on Last Dance, a year-long programme of exhibitions, workshops, talks, films and podcasts exploring the changing nature of UK club culture.
