Gaia Fugazza presents a performance that imagines a future where humans expand their knowledge through interaction with other species (specifically plants). The work is a shared ritualistic experience between audience, performer, and the Mimosa Pudica plant whose leaves fold inward when touched. Following the performance, Gaia unravels some of the themes her work explores together with Nathalie Boobis, the founder of the participatory research group The Future is a Collective Project utilising the concept of the future as a tool for articulating what is missing or ignored in the present.
