Billy Bultheel residency at Rupert
Rupert invited composer Billy Bultheel for a residency.
Billy Bultheel is a composer whose work lies at the intersection of performance art and music. During his residency he will work on a new site-specific project that brings together sculpture, installation, performance art and live and synthesised music. His music is rooted in the electronic tradition, but deeply inspired by renaissance music, early baroque and medieval polyphony. The project will explore acoustic qualities of churches, how buildings can function as instruments, and embedding music in unexpected locations.
Billy Bultheel will be part of Rupert’s Alternative Education Programme in 2024, providing his professional expertise and presenting his artistic practices with our AEP participants. The workshop will be hosted in Vilnius and will function as an important part of the alternative teaching programme.
