Martyna Ratnik
Martyna Ratnik (LT) is a Vilnius-based cultural worker. Her creative practices include writing, filmmaking, and curation, focusing on landscapes and their (de)colonisation, as well as the aesthetics of boredom and memory politics in the (post-)Soviet space and beyond. She explores the tensions that arise between grand narratives and accounts of everyday life, always searching for ways to embody and transgress history – from personal to planetary.
Ratnik has curated film screenings for the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London and other independent cinemas in Europe, while her moving-image work has been screened at several festivals. She recently completed her Film and Screen Studies Bachelor’s degree at the University of the Arts London and works on the London Short Film Festival’s Selection Committee.
