Workshop

Puzzle Natura was a workshop series at PAV for visitors, especially school classes and groups of children, that questioned the responsibilities of human beings towards the climate crisis.

The workshop series Puzzle Natura was dedicated to the ideas and works of the Italian artist Piero Gilardi. The starting points were two of Gilardi’s works at PAV, the interactive installation Bioma and the didactic work Puzzle natura Marina delle Canarie, which consist of 53 items made of expanded polyurethane, latex and willow baskets. An interactive visit to these works questioned the responsibilities of human beings towards the ecological and climate crisis. The public was encouraged to stomp on, inhabit and move through the natural yet artificial environments of these installations, to regain a connection with an ideal of nature that is no longer viable in post-Fordist society. What is our relation with nature?

Piero Gilardi (IT) (3 August 1942 – 5 March 2023) was a visual artist, and a central figure in the Arte Povera movement.
