Futurefarmers – Residency II at Rupert

22 – 30 Jun 2025
Vilnius (LT)
Residency

During their second residency at Rupert, Futurefarmers organises a workshop with a transnational group of emerging and mid-career artists (10 participants of Rupert’s Alternative Education Programme), a public presentation of workshop results, and an artist talk.

The workshop, mass mOving, invites participants from the Alternative Education Programme (AEP) to work as a group to imagine and enact a movement, following a path of prompts and meditations to arrive at the action. The group will imagine a voyage, a journey together to move something beyond its means.`

The public presentation consists of a talk between Monika Lipšic, Curator of the Residency and Public Programmes, and Amy Franceschini, founder of the international art collective Futurefarmers. The artist is interested in “farming” as a relational practice involving a complex web of interdependencies across time, scale, and geography where dailyness, seasonality, orality, ritual, and myth organize our collective imaginaries and how we live together.

Franceschini will discuss her practice during a talk open to the general audience. Following the talk, which will take place outdoors on custom-designed blankets, participants will be invited to join a performative procession that brings the blankets they were seated on to life.
