SEMIBREVE 2023 festival emphasizes connections between exploratory music and experimental cinema practices. The programme features acclaimed artists not to be missed, such as Kali Malone, Tujiko Noriko and Thomas Ankersmit.
As part of Re-Imagine Europe: New Perspectives for Action, SEMIBREVE presents 3 new commissions:
Franco-Swiss composer Kassel Jaeger will team up with French cinematographer and photographer Eléonore Huisse to present the world premiere of Shifted in Dreams – Redreamed, a new audiovisual work.
Berlin based composer Maya Shenfeld and Portguese filmmaker Pedro Maia will present the world premiere of a new collaborative audiovisual show, developped during a residency in Portugal, and based on Maya’s upcoming new record, Under the Sun.
Norwegian musician Anja Lauvdal developed a workshop for students from the local conservatory of music, focused on improvisation practices and collaborative composition.
