Hira Nabi
Hira Nabi is an artist and filmmaker.
She works with images and text to tell stories of the everyday. Her practice is concerned with the environment, the often unseen, and a slow process of re-earthing: by which she intends to shift focus away from anthropocentric stories into a more interconnected and larger witnessing of the times we live in.
Her work has shown in competition at AFI Docs, CPH:DOX, Sundance, Palm Springs, DokuFest, and been included in the Lahore Biennale, Liverpool Biennial, Sonsbeek Qaudrennial, GIBCA Biennale, Colomboscope, and has been exhibited at SAVVY Contemporary, Extra City, Johann Jacobs Museum, Ashkal Alwan, among others. She is the recipient of the Edith-Russ-Haus media art grant for 2021, and is currently developing a moving image work set in former colonial hill stations in Pakistan.
