Rūta Junevičiūtė

Rūta Junevičiūtė is an artist and choreographer from Vilnius, based in Amsterdam. For the past seven years she has been researching the body as a sentient archive, intergenerational relationships and holistic processes of healing. Rūta’s work has been presented at Veem House of Performance (NL), Frascati Theatre (NL), de Brakke Grond Theatre ( NL), Vilnius Performance Art Biennial (LT), the Lithuanian National Gallery of Art ( LT), Contemporary Art Center in Vilnius (LT), June gallery in Berlin (DE), Komplot in Brussels (BE), Bora Bora Aarhus a.o. In 2023 she published a book on the aesthetics of conspiracy, affects of censorship and the phenomena of the Aesopian language. Together with choreographer Liza Baliasnaja she is co-facilitating an ongoing workshop series/research ‘Sore Spots’, addressing how unresolved history manifests in the body.
