Sven Gutjahr (DE) is an artist who works in the fields of photography, video, and film. Currently, he is finishing his MA in Film at the University of the Arts in Berlin. In 2016 he achieved his BA in Visual Com­munication where he focused on moving image. In the same year, he was awarded with a grant by the German National Scholarship Foundation. Driven by critical perspectives on hegemonic norms, his work is often body­-based: pursuing the subject as it moves through architecture and space while drawing attention to aspects of performativity and identity; examining the strangeness of the human body in its physical presence; as well as its entity as a social construct. Blurring the lines between fictional and documentary narratives, his work ex­plores aesthetics of intimacy, control and excess.
