Summing up Borealis 2025

 

Look back on five days of sound and music from Hong Kong to Sápmi, Indonesia to Palestine, which touched our hearts, shocked our ears, made us laugh and brought tears to our eyes – reminding us that the world is on fire, but also of the power of coming together to listen. With sold-out concerts across the board, the sound of all the experiments still resonate in the walls of the 14 venues Borealis used during the 2025 festival.

In the framework of Re-Imagine Europe, Borealis presented two new commissions:
World premiere of chamber opera Nara by composer Tze Yeung-Ho.
Tuomas Toivonen – Sonic Sauna, a collaboration between Laugaren and Borealis.
