Ji Youn Kang (KR/NL) is a Den Haag-based solo performer and composer. She holds two master degrees in Sonology from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and in Composition from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Most of her works and performances involve experimental abstract music inspired by Korean Shamanism. Through a combination of acoustic instruments, handmade analog devices, and live computer processing, her compositions are known to explore the relationship between musical and physical spaces. Her pieces have been played in many different places and festivals all over Europe. She currently works as a freelance composer and as a teaching staff member at the Institute of Sonology.
