Hypecompass
Between Deep Fake Simulation & Corecore Propaganda

Hypecompass – Between Deep Fake Simulation & Corecore Propaganda was a workshop that employed the meme as a tool to generate collective visions of the future.
Drawing inspiration from debates surrounding deep-fake realities, AI-driven propaganda, and the increasing fragmentation of political subcultures, Clusterduck guided the participants of this workshop to create their own iteration of the ‘Hyperstitional Compass’ meme, where the axes of the compass reflect hopes, fears, and doubts about upcoming futures. This workshop offered a unique opportunity for participants to explore issues on the intersection of deep fake, propaganda and artivism. It was open to anyone interested in the future of activism and artivism as political practices.
Clusterduck (IT/DE) is an interdisciplinary collective that investigates processes and actors behind the creation of Internet-based content, with a focus on meme culture. Examples of their art practice are #MEMEPROPAGANDA (2018), #MEMERSFORFUTURE (2020), and #MEMEMANIFESTO (2020).
