About Sonic Acts
Sonic Acts is a leading platform for new developments in electronic and digital art and sound art. Along with a year-round programme, the organisation is notable for its Biennial, which takes place at a variety of locations in Amsterdam. Sonic Acts supports research, development and presentation of cutting-edge music, visual art, science, and technology in concerts, lectures, club music, film screenings, workshops, exhibitions, and more.

Based in Amsterdam, Sonic Acts works with national and international artists, partners, and kindred cultural and academic institutions. The organisation has an ambitious attitude and strives for innovation and exceptional artistic quality in all of its activities.

Responsibilities
As Communications Manager, you will be responsible for communicating, promoting, and marketing Sonic Acts’ programmes. This includes both online and offline communications, as well as managing relationships with media partners and audiences.

Responsibilities include managing campaigns for Sonic Acts programmes from start to finish across various channels – including the website, mailing, PR, social media – which means:

Translating programmes into accessible and engaging communication, including website copy, social media posts, email newsletters, press releases, etc.;
Collaborating with designers and artists to oversee the content creation of visually appealing and multimedia-rich assets;
Managing and maintaining content management systems (CMS) and ensuring content is organised and easily accessible for future use;
Monitoring timelines and goals for campaigns, including advertising and PR;
Communicating projects through media partnerships and relevant contacts in the Dutch cultural sector;
Monitoring content performance metrics, such as website traffic and engagement rates, and making data-driven recommendations and reports.
Requirements
Completed higher education;
3 years of relevant work experience;
Excellent communication, writing and editing skills in English (fluency in Dutch is a plus);
Experience in the development and implementation of marketing and communications plans and strategies;
Knowledge of relevant systems and tools – Strapi, Mailchimp, Slack, Basecamp, Homerun, Typeform, Eventix…
A relevant local network in media, music, art, and culture;
Living in or able to travel to Amsterdam;
A proactive and flexible attitude with a sense of responsibility that is not always limited to office hours;
A strong affinity for AV and contemporary visual art, avant-garde film, electronic music, experimental media, and critical discourse.

Salary between €2.767 and €3.233 gross per month based on full-time employment, depending on knowledge and experience – based on the guidelines of De Zaak Nu. Freelance is also possible.
