Workshop

The Take Care Of workshop, led by Barbara De Ponti, originates from a broader project initiated in 2024 in Forlì through the collaboration of several organisations active in the social field. It explores the symbolic power of earth and its early role in human creativity, reflecting on how the manipulation of this material became one of the first intentional acts aimed at improving life for our species.

At PAV, the workshop will expand its focus towards gestures of care in their many possible forms, paying particular attention to the postures and movements of the hands as they protect, envelop and safeguard. Participants will be guided in exploring the personal meaning behind their own gestures, inspired also by the spatial and experiential cues offered by PAV. These actions will culminate in the creation of a clay imprint, using red stoneware — a sensitive and receptive material capable of retaining even the faintest trace, and which becomes highly durable once fired, making it suitable for outdoor installations.Adding further perspective to the workshop, Alessandro Castiglioni will present his book Teorie dei climi (Theories of Climates), published by Postmediabook (2023).

The workshop takes place in the context of the exhibition of Binta Diaw at PAV.
