Workshop

The Acousmonium workshop brought together local students from the IEM (Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics, University of Music and Performing Arts Graz) in a collaborative technical and artistic process, giving them rare behind-the-scenes access to the Acousmonium.

Under the guidance of INA GRM professionals, students explored the philosophy of sound diffusion, speaker placement, and spatial listening aesthetics, while entering into dialogue with sound practitioners across generations. By demystifying the technical and curatorial aspects of the Acousmonium, the workshop helped students develop skills in collaborative production, critical listening, and the setup of multichannel works — empowering them to actively contribute to a major international sound art production and to see themselves as part of Europe’s evolving experimental art landscape.

This workshop took place during Elevate 2025 and was hosted by Francois Bonnet, Jules Négrier, Emmanuel Richier and Gerhard Eckel.
