Plankturutaña is a live performance by Merche Blasco, Marina Cyrino and Ute Wassermann building an immersive sonic landscape evocative of ecological change.

Plankturutaña by the trio of composer-performers Ute Wassermann, Marina Cyrino, and Merche Blasco is an innovative musical experience that invites open-minded thinking and preparedness for change to come. The piece explores interactions between invented and expanded instruments that incorporate organic and elemental materials, as well as DIY electronics, field recordings, and voice, creating a speculative sonic environment that interweaves human and non-human sounds. Together the artists create an evolving and immersive landscape using a variety of experimental techniques: thimble microphones combined with household appliances, hydrophones and contact mics, transformed flutes made of disassembled objects, a rotating wheel called ‘Urutau’, combined with a human voice that expands into bird song.
