Meet-up & Symposium

Let’s Talk About Corruption, Arms Trade & Organised Crime was a meetup that explores how corruption, arms trade and organised crime intersect with lived experiences of work, activism and research.

This meetup discussed why the arms trade is such a good target for corrupt actors and how it interconnects with organised crime. In an interactive format the participants explored themselves how corruption, arms trade and/or organised crime intersect with the lived experiences of work, activism and research, and discussed how anti-corruption work is also entangled with other issues in their lived experience. Emphasis was put on the use of open source data for research. The overall goal of the meetup was for the participants to get an insight into how the system of arms trade works.

Julia Auf dem Brinke (DE) is a co-founder and steering committee member of the Corruption Tracker project, where she works on bringing together activists, academics, and journalists to tackle the detrimental effect of corruption within the global arms trade.
