Spatial Sound Concerts at Sonic Acts 2026 Biennial mean two nights. Thirteen concerts. Ten hours of spatial sound.

Extending Sonic Acts’ longstanding legacy in spatial sound, across two evenings a series of live concerts and diffusions unfold on the world-famous Acousmonium – an orchestra of around 60 loudspeakers designed to envelop listeners. Under Paradiso’s soaring ceilings, visitors will encounter spatial sound in its most immersive form: listening as attention, and as a full-body experience, carried across the loudspeaker field.

The Acousmonium becomes an instrument for newly composed works by KMRU & Aho Ssan and BJ Nilsen, recent pieces diffused or performed by artists such as Jana WinderenSarah Davachi, and Sam Dunscombe, and celebrated archival works by Éliane Radigue and Beatriz Ferreyra.

Moving between analogue instruments, self-designed digital tools, field recordings, and live performance, each artist brings a distinct sonic language that pushes the boundaries of perception.

These two programmes are co-organised with the Musical Research Group of the French National Audiovisual Institute (INA grm) in collaboration with Hartwig Art Foundation.
