Workshop

Technical Literacy and Technical Planning was a workshop that provided young people with the necessary skills to plan and realise cultural events.

This one-day workshop aimed to empower young people who are interested to organise and produce events in the field of art and culture. Experienced technicians shared their knowledge to provide young people with technical literacy, skills and confidence to produce their own events. The workshop emphasised a hands-on approach and covers the basics of technical planning, pre-production, understanding technical riders, timelines, costs, budget, audio and video equipment, lighting devices, electricity, as well as troubleshooting. The workshop established a direct relationship and trust between experienced technicians and young people, and created a network that the young people can rely on for advice. It activated young future curators and organisers and equipped them with necessary skills to communicate with artists, technicians and others involved in the planning and realisation of cultural events.
