Ràdio Web MACBA celebrates its 18th birthday!

On May 2 in 2006, inside the web/publications department of MACBA in Barcelona, Spain, Sònia López planted the seed of Ràdio Web MACBA.

It’s been 18 years of collective learning, slow-cooking conversations, time suspended in listening, critical thinking, electromagnetic explorations, working with artists, knowledge transfer, radio beyond radio, the RWM Working Group, and embracing orality and complexity.

From this sound lab, RWM brings back orality into the body, by inscribing quotes from our archive onto their skin. Each quote etches itself into memory, a tangible reminder of the voices and stories they aim to preserve and honor.
