Francisco López – Interview with A4
Francisco López, an internationally recognised figure in sound art and the experimental music scene, has developed his practice over more than 40 years under the influence of an independent global music network and “real-world” sound environments, especially nature. In his work, he weaves these experiences into a deep and complex sonic language that goes beyond traditional musical education and conventions.
His approach to environmental recordings does not rely on representation but on transforming the reality of the sounds themselves. The result is new, immersive sound worlds that challenge traditional stage setups and shift attention from the performer to the sound itself, turning contemplative experiences into dynamic, immersive ones.
The video is produced by A4 as part of New Perspectives for Action, a project by Re-Imagine Europe, co-funded by the European Union and supported using public funding by Slovak Arts Council and Bratislava City Foundation.
