Our Slovakian partner organisation A4 celebraters the 25th anniversary of NEXT – Festival for advanced music.
With an enticing programme consisting of performances, talks and workshops, the festival takes over the city of Bratislava from 27 November to 1 December 2024.

This year, the flagship experimental music festival of Bratislava celebrates 25 years of boundary pushing electronic arts. Congratulations! Here’s to many more. The 2024 festival edition is brimming with refreshing acts, adventurous commissions and stunning performances by world-wide revered as well as upcoming artists.

Amongst the programme, A4 presents a fine curation of newly commissioned performances and workshops realised in the framework of Re-Imagine Europe:
· Alexandra Cihanská Machová: premiere of a new electronic performance
· Francisco López: Workshop on sonic creation
· Görkem Arıkan: Wirwarp, originally commissioned by Sonic Acts
· Martin Hurych: Soundwalk and a workshop
· Sól Ey and Paulína Šmatláková: workshop on Sound, movement, interaction
· Transsonic (Viola Yip and Nicola L. Hein): premiere of a new performance
· Plankturutaña, premiere of a new performance by the trio of composer-performers: Ute Wassermann, Marina Cyrino, and Merche Blasco.

NEXT Festival
Founded in 2000 in Bratislava, Slovakia, the NEXT Festival by A4 is an annual celebration of exploratory music and sonic art: from electronic experiments and free­form improvisation to audio­visual projects, it brings together artists who push the boundaries.
